Basic White Bread
10 ounces water
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 tablespoons butter or margerine
3 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tablespoons dry milk (I use the dry buttermilk powder)
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons yeast
Mix in bread maker pan according to your machines instructions. This is the order my machine uses for adding ingredients. Your machine should have a "dough" setting. I use this to mix the ingredients and for the first rise. My machine cuts off when It's time for the second rise. I take it out and place it in a greased loaf pan and let it rise.
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. Cook for 20 minutes until the top is golden brown. Remove from pan and put on a cooling rack. I butter the top of the bread while it's still hot to give it a rich, golden look.
Fresh baked bread slices the best with an electric knife but a serrated bread knife works also.
